The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States fell by 13 to 1,826 for the week ending October 26, 2012, down 0.7% from the previous week and down some 9.6% from a year-ago.

The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.

The number of rigs in Canada rose 4.2% to 370 from 355 last week, and was 25.9% below the year-ago level.

The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.

The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States fell by 11 to 1,837 for the week ending October 5, 2012, down 0.6% from the previous week and 8.7% from a year-ago – reaching the lowest level since May 2011.

The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.

The number of rigs in Canada fell 3.6% to 372 from 359 last week and remained some 28.7% below the year-ago level.

The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.

The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States fell by 5 to 1,859 for the week ending September 21, 2012, down 0.3% from the previous week and 6.6% below the year-ago level – remaining at the lowest level since June 2011.

The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.

The number of rigs in Canada increased for the third consecutive week, rising 2.5% to 363 from 354 last week, but remained some 28.1% below the year-ago level.

The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.

The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States remained at 1,864 for the week ending September 14, 2012 and was 6.1% below the year-ago level – remaining at the lowest levels since June 2011.

The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.

The number of rigs in Canada increased this week by 2.6% to 354 compared with 345 last week but was down 29.5% from the year-ago level.

The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.
