				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States increased 0.5% to 1,818 for the week ending April 4, 2014, up from 1,809 last week and reaching the highest count since October 26, 2012.  The count is some 4.6% above the year-ago level of 1,738.</span></p>
<p>The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.</p>
<p>The number of rigs in Canada fell to a nine-month low of 235 this week, dropping 21.1% from 298 last week and decreasing 88.3% over the now-six-week downward spiral.  Despite the fall, the count is some 14.1% above the year-ago level of 206.</p>
<p>The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.</p>

<p>The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.</p>
<p>The number of rigs in Canada fell for the fourth consecutive week, dropping 25.5% from 522 last week to 389 this week, which is an eleven-week low.  Despite the fall, the count is some 15.4% above the year-ago level of 337.</p>
<p>The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.</p>

<p>The number of rigs in Canada decreased for the third consecutive week, down 11.1% from 587 last week to 522 this week, dropping to a two-month low.  Despite the fall, the count is some 16.7% above the year-ago level of 503.</p>
<p>The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.</p>

<p>The number of rigs in Canada decreased 6.2% from 626 last week to 587 this week, falling for a second time after an eight-week climb.  Despite the fall, the count is some 1.2% above the year-ago level of 580.</p>
<p>The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The number of active oil and natural gas rigs in the United States remained at last week&#8217;s count of 1,777 for the week ending January 24, 2014.  The count is some 1.4% above the year-ago level of 1,753.</span></p>
<p>The highest weekly rig count in the United States since 1940 was recorded on December 28, 1981, at 4,530; the lowest was recorded on April 23, 1999, at 488.</p>
<p>The number of rigs in Canada increased for the fourth consecutive week, up 4.4% from 565 last week to 590 this week to the highest count since March 1, 2013.  Despite the increase, the count is some 5.0% below the year-ago level of 621.</p>
<p>The highest rig count for Canada was 727 on February 3, 2006; the lowest was 29, recorded on April 24, 1992.</p>
